Arthur rolled over with a quiet groan. Sunlight streamed through the window onto his pillow. He waited for the inevitable wail of a small child that usually woke him in the mornings. The noise never came however. Out of curiosity he reached for the old alarm clock on the bedside table and tried to focus on the time through squinting eyes. It was almost 6am. A small sense of satisfied delight warmed him for a moment as he realised that for the first time both Bill and Charlie had slept through the entire night and as far as he could tell, they were still sleeping quietly in the next room.
He turned his head and looked at Molly, sleeping next to him. He felt the familiar stirring of desire at the sight of her laying naked in the gentle morning light. He ignored the urge to wake her then and there and act on his desire, it had been a long time since she had enjoyed an uninterrupted sleep after all. He smiled and watched her for a moment peacefully before resolving to pull himself out of bed, take a nice warm bath and then check on the boys. If he had time he could even have breakfast ready for when his wife and sons finally woke.
He took his time in the bath for once, luxuriating in the caressing water and the lack of harassment that usually occupied his mornings. Only when he felt that perhaps he was taking a bit too long and he really should get dressed and see whether the boys were still asleep or actually awake and just being quiet. He wrapped a soft towel around his waist as he made his way back into the bedroom.
Molly was awake when he returned. She was bent over the bed, straightening the covers. The pit of his stomach flipped slightly, that curious form of lust that only came from truly loving someone. He dropped the towel and crossed the room, embracing her as she stood to smile a good morning at him. His lips met hers for an extended moment as he revelled in the feel of her, the scent of her, the taste of her. He guided her back towards the bed and despite her grinned protests that she really should check on the boys, she made no move to resist him.
